ザトウクジラの子どもが水面で息継ぎをして、海中で待つ母のもとへ戻っていく様子を描きました。油彩絵具と岩絵具を組み合わせることで海の深い青色と太陽光が織りなす幻想的な色合いを表現しました。3月の沖縄県宜野湾で見た光景。

I painted scene of baby humpback whale taking breather on the surface of the water and returning to its mother waiting underwater. By combining oil paint and mineral pigments, I was able to express the deep blue of the ocean and the fantastical colors created by the sunlight. This scene I saw in Ginowan, Okinawa in March.
